Bleachers have released the official music video for “dirty wedding dress,” the second single from their upcoming fifth studio album, everyone for ten minutes, out May 22 via Dirty Hit. Directed by Gabe Drechsler, the video leans into the same chaotic intimacy that defines the track, blurring the line between performance and real life.
Much of the video centers on Jack Antonoff inside his studio at Electric Lady, shifting between offhand moments—eating watermelon, strumming his guitar, and singing straight into the camera. Elsewhere, the rest of the band appear gathered near a highway, swaying back and forth, while clips of rehearsals and footage from their intimate one-night-only show at Union Pool in March reinforce the communal energy behind the song, echoing the line: “only my people can see me, only my people come in.”
Quick messages flash across the screen throughout, including “Does dying make you wanna work?”, “Do not let them take your soul,” and “Please send think pieces and book proposals to management or Chloe,” adding a layer of urgency beneath the video’s loose, home-video feel.
When Antonoff sings, “So we got married that August…,” the visuals cut to real footage from his wedding, where crowds gathered outside to catch a glimpse of guests. He previously described the moment in a newsletter as being “swarmed with herbs… just run of the mill weekender dipshits,” drawing a clear line between spectacle and genuine connection.
That tension ultimately defines the video. It comes to a head in its closing moments, where Antonoff is shown outside the Union Pool show talking with fans. In a brief, easily missable moment, he’s seen in conversation with attendees after the show—featuring, to my surprise, a quick shot of this writer among the crowd. It’s a small detail, but one that underscores the video’s central idea: for all the chaos surrounding it, “dirty wedding dress” is less about the noise and more about who you choose to let in.
Preorder/presave everyone for ten minutes now.
