Alexa Kate steps into a new healing era with “Not Your Fault”

Date:

Singer-songwriter Alexa Kate sparks the beginning of a new era of music with the release of her single, “Not Your Fault.”

Following hot off the heels of the fan-favorite EP, Over Nostalgic (Deluxe), this new indie-pop ballad speaks of a love that never really leaves you. The first song released by the artist this year, the single brings about a deeper connection and commitment to the vulnerable and nostalgic lyricism prevalent in her music.

The New York native has always had a connection to such emotionality; having begun her career writing songs as a means to feel understood (and allowing others to feel the same), Alexa Kate stands out from the crowd as an artist dedicated to bringing the digital fandom into a real, tangible medium. Uniquely, she is known for creating physical mementos — online or off — as a means to deepen her connection with her fans.

In “Not Your Fault,” listeners can feel the emotional remnants of a person they’ve never truly forgotten, seeing them in every part of their life, but still being able to move on and heal from it: “You see me move on, you see me when the lights go down before your favorite song, oh and / its not your fault that no one compares / Or could ever make me feel the way you did / or that I’ve memorized the space in time / of the almost I’ve been chasing ever since / I’m saving the feeling, maybe that’s part of the healing.”

In addition to the release of this beautiful single, this gives a sneak peek into the artist’s anticipated third EP — more information is set to be released!
