Nevertel has joined forces with Sleep Theory for the latest glimpse into their upcoming album Start Again ahead of its full release this Friday. “Break The Silence” was originally first performed during Sleep Theory’s slot on the mainstage at Welcome To Rockville in May. The two bands then continued to play the track live on the Afterglow Tour Pt. I, which wrapped up at the end of June.

The monumental collaboration between the Epitaph labelmates starts with an intense guitar riff right from the get-go. “Break The Silence” explores recognizing harmful patterns in a relationship and wanting to break free instead of continuing to enable toxic behavior. Kicking off with a heavy-hitting verse from Nevertel’s Raul Lopez, the song’s relentless energy is backed by its commanding instrumental, raw lyricism and dynamic vocal delivery.

Sleep Theory’s Cullen Moore enters on the second verse with his soaring vocals instantly captivating all attention. “Break The Silence” then builds intensity as Sleep Theory guitarist Daniel Pruitt’s guttural screams cut through, channeling the frustration and aggression that’s fused into the track’s core. The two groups effortlessly display their respective genre-bending styles, coming together for arguably one of the most electric collaborations of the year. The song’s release is accompanied by an immersive music video that gives off hardcore Fast and Furious vibes.

On the track, Lopez shares with Melodic Magazine “‘Break the Silence’ wasn’t intended to be a collab… It just happened, that camaraderie, and we’re going through similar things at the same time, so we can connect in that sense.”

Sleep Theory is set to kick off their Afterglow Tour Part II next week on September 18th in Milwaukee, WI, once again including support from Nevertel, Oxymorrons and Mourning Eve. Tickets and information for these upcoming shows can be found here
