Active rock band Nerv has recently released their latest single, “WASTED!”, ahead of their upcoming appearance at Los Angeles’ Dirty Fest on November 16th. The band is currently working on their next EP, expected to release in 2025.

“WASTED!” has a distinctly aggressive sound that starts off quietly, only to immediately erupt. The melodic vocals carry the emotional burden of reaching the breaking point in a relationship, as the narrator realizes how overwhelming everything has gotten. The potent lyrics hit every nerve, and can relate to any sort of situation the listener is going through, conveying the need to escape in order to survive.

The track is powerful and relentless, with a throttling sound that heightens the sense of anger and frustration. With strong riffs and rumbling drums, “WASTED!” takes the familiar sound of the likes of Godsmack and I Prevail into a different level. Nerv continues to bring a fresh breath into the rock scene, telling relevant and relatable stories that many can connect with. “WASTED!” leans into these qualities, turning into a raging anthem that allows the listener to let go and have an almost cathartic experience.
