Montreal native Myles Lloyd has released “Cold” off his new album, I’m Still Thinking. The R&B track is a mellow, introspective record that contrasts his previous confidence-packed single, “Grapevine.”
In “Cold,” Lloyd expresses frustration over his partner emotionally distancing themselves from him. In the chorus, he sings, “Don’t blame it on December / For why you’re cold / ‘Cause even in the summer / Your heart was froze / And I don’t know if it’s ever going to thaw.”
About the inspiration behind the new album, Lloyd shares:
“I thought I was done processing everything, but these songs proved I wasn’t. It’s messy, honest, and really just me working through what I’m still feeling. Ultimately, it’s about understanding why we hold on, even when we know it’s time to let go.”
Since debuting in 2017, Lloyd has been carving out his own space in modern R&B with the help of his four LPs, including 2019’s Goodbye, 2022’s Forever, Yours, and 2024’s WHAT MORE CAN I SAY?. The new album, I’m Still Thinking, contains his breakout hit “Drive Me Crazy,” which has amassed over 40 million streams on Spotify thus far.
