Matt Hansen delivers emotional pop ballad “COMPASS”

Date:

Matt Hansen has released a new single titled “COMPASS,” an emotional pop ballad reminiscent of Alex Warren and Benson Boone. The anthemic guitar-driven song serves as the follow-up to “DON’T LOOK BACK.”

“COMPASS” is a heartfelt love letter in which the singer-songwriter bares his heart to his romantic partner. In the chorus, Hansen showcases his impressive vocal range over a pulsating beat as he chants, “All the seas and all the stars / Can tear us away from each other’s arms / But I will find my way back home to you.”

About the meaning behind the track, Hansen said:

“I wrote ‘COMPASS’ about the kind of love that keeps you centered – the person who pulls you back when you start to drift.”

Hansen first grew an online following after posting renditions of songs like Coldplay‘s “Yellow” and Goo Goo Dolls‘ “Iris.” Since debuting in 2021 with the single “without you with me,” he has amassed over 1 billion streams as an independent artist. He has opened for Teddy Swims, Lauv, Train, Alec Benjamin, in addition to headlining his own worldwide tours. He is currently working on his upcoming debut album, expected to arrive in 2026.
