Detroit-based pop-artist Mira Housey has released her newest single “Layup.”
“Layup” is the final song of Mira’s EP, Mirror, out now on Spotify. The track has a jazzy pop groove that is infectious upon the first few set of notes. It oscillates between an expansive, atmospheric soundscape and a semi-stripped-down listening experience. “Layup” is bright and fun, making it perfect for a drive on a sunny day with no destination.
The classical pianist-turned-pop-star writes, records, and produces all of her music alone in her bedroom. Mira started gaining attention from her viral songwriting challenges, piano compositions, and production videos in which she enlisted the help of strangers and friends to provide song inspiration.
In less than one year, Mira has reached over 40 million people with her emotionally driven, melodically powerful music. Her music has landed on playlists such as SALT, New Music Friday, and Fresh Finds Pop.
