Mindy Gledhill’s “Prismatic” takes listeners another step deeper into her intriguing blend of electronica and indie pop. Sharing similar sonic qualities and styles to artists like Colbie Callait, the singer-songwriter has previously made a name for herself in the indie pop scene with singles such as “I Do Adore” and “Anchor.” Much of her musical inspiration sparked from her Mormon upbringing and finding peace with her faith, and “Prismatic” is no exception.
The brand new single, featuring a colorful sonic palette and catchy guitar licks, doesn’t disappoint. “Prismatic” tells the story of Gledhill’s teenage years which she spent in Spain, frequenting late-night discos. She describes the single as a “memoir of that time.” Alongside her producer, Danial Tashian (Kacey Musgraves), Gledhill blended a wide variety of unusual instruments and unique styles, culminating in an upbeat, optimistic, and liberating track, paying homage to her lively nights in Spain.
“Prismatic” is set to release less than a month after her previous single, “Stained Glass Heart” – both of which are part of the build-up toward the release of her second album, titled The Phone Booth Sessions, Vol. 2.
