Independent breakthrough artist Matt Hansen continues his rapid ascent with the release of his new single, “Same Time,” the latest glimpse into his forthcoming debut album Orchid, arriving in Spring 2026. Known for his powerhouse vocals, Hansen has built a devoted global audience without traditional label backing: an impressive feat that now includes more than 6 million monthly Spotify listeners, over 3 million TikTok followers, and more than one billion total streams across his catalog.
Originally gaining traction through covers of beloved ‘90s and early 2000s classics like “Iris” on TikTok, Hansen quickly captured listeners and created momentum which soon translated into a thriving catalog of original music. Hansen has since headlined sold-out tours across three continents and shared stages with artists such as Teddy Swims, Lauv, Train, and Alec Benjamin. Speaking about the upcoming album, Hansen explains, “‘Orchid’ is an album about loving too deeply, losing yourself, finding the courage to leave and learning that healing can make space for something healthier to grow. I think of that fragile kind of love like an orchid. We pour everything into it, believing devotion can keep it alive, until we realize the conditions were never meant for it to bloom.”
