In 2022, indie-electronic band Mansionair gave us something to believe in with their sophomore album, Happiness, Guaranteed. The project explored the concept of evolution and the way that happiness may not always find us in the present moment but it does find us in the end. Paired with bold and edgy music that showcased the band’s genre-bending style, the album confirmed that Mansionair have much to offer. As they gear up to release their third album, they show that they are ready to take things to the next level. They are looking for “elevation” instead of evolution, according to a recent press release, and fans will be able to hear hints of this on the album’s lead single, “Lose Yourself Again.”
On “Lose Yourself Again,” we are brought into a dreamy world full of possibilities. The vocals tend to fade into the melodies which fade into the beats which fade into the drops, so there is plenty to take in and follow. Meanwhile, the vocals are fragile but compelling enough to pull you in as we hear, “I heard you want to lose yourself again / You’re running out of reasons to pretend.” They keep you grounded while instilling escapism, which is what the upcoming album focuses on.
About “Lose Yourself Again,” Mansionair explain that it is,
“A song inspired by the idea of losing yourself to find yourself. About being on the precipice of something real and meaningful, you’re just not quite sure where to find it; yet, you feel its gravitational pull. It’s an ode to the moments in our lives where we find the present moment.”
