Jordy Searcy surprised fans with his latest single, “Body Talk,” on May 2nd. This light, bouncy track is a part of the Louisiana singer-songwriter’s upcoming album,
The End Of Us, coming out on July 25th. Searcy shared very candidly on social media that the song is about sex. In a cheeky Instagram post following the release, he says:
“This song sounds like sex on the beach but like if you had a small argument on that day But not like a real one it’s more that you both Just wanted to feel annoyed But you realized it’s totally not worth it to intentionally Get annoyed with your best friend in the world So you decide to not even talk through whether you’re actually fighting or not Because there’s no actual issue And you just make out instead.”
Searcy loves to write love songs. He has come to be known for the emotional depth and authenticity of his lyrics and live performances alike, and it seems fans can expect more of the same depth on The End of Us. “21” is a beautiful ballad which Searcy shares he wrote only 3 months into dating his wife about starting a new life together (“Cause our story’s just beginning / I know you spent some years you won’t get back / But if you want / We could be 21 again)”.
“Body Talk” is a playful head-bopper that tells the story of two people who just need to kiss and make up already:“So let’s go talk under the covers / somewhere we can hear each other / we don’t need no words / just let your body talk.” It’s safe to say Searcy has been keeping busy in more ways than one. “Body Talk” is available to stream wherever you listen to music.
