joan hopes newest single, “face,” finds you wherever you are

Date:

joan is back with a new single, “face.” The single follows the release of “magic,” released earlier this month. The newest single is accompanied by a music video directed by joan and Edward Crockett. “face” takes you on a walk down memory lane, exploring loss in a relationship demonstrated by the lyrics, “I swear to God I heard you calling out my name / Your clothes are in the closet, still I keep ’em just in case / I’m talking to a ghost, you haunt me everyday / You were flesh and bones but now you’re just in picture frames.” joan elaborates on the release of the new single:

“This song feels like today and yesterday and tomorrow and five years ago all at once, it feels like downtown at midnight, it feels sad and hopeful. Hope it finds you wherever you are.”

Little Rock, Arkansas, natives Alan Benjamin Thomas and Steven Rutherford make up the indie pop duo which formed in 2017. They released their debut EP, porta, two years later followed by cloudy, both exploring the highs and lows of a relationship. Beginning in April, joan will be playing songs from their discography, including ones that are unreleased, on The Close Friends Tour. Tickets are available here.

The Close Friends Tour Dates:
4/24 – Dallas, TX
4/25 – Austin, TX
5/1 – Little Rock, AR
5/8 – Atlanta, GA
