HAIM has announced their highly anticipated fourth studio album, I quit, will be released on June 20 via Columbia Records.

The trio has been hinting at this announcement for weeks with cryptic teasers and a pair of buzzy surprise shows in Los Angeles. The 15-track project was produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim, and promises a return to the band’s live-performance roots: raw, guitar-driven, and full of the classic rock reverence that’s long defined the trio’s sound. Shot by frequent collaborator Paul Thomas Anderson, the album cover continues the group’s tradition of thoughtful, art-house visuals.

Alongside the announcement, HAIM dropped the project’s third single “Down to be wrong,” a self-possessed anthem about putting yourself first. The track lands with one of their most declarative messages yet: “Don’t need you to understand, don’t know if you can… Red lights are up ahead, but I keep walking.” The video, which arrives tomorrow at 8am PST, was directed by duo Bradley and Pablo and stars actor Logan Lerman.

“Down to be wrong” follows the release of “Relationships” and “Everybody’s trying to figure me out,” both of which earned critical acclaim. Pitchfork called it “the first song of the summer,” while Stereogum praised the band’s return to their genre-blurring roots. Vulture summed it up: “HAIM is back… not taking anything too seriously except for the quality of what they put out into the world.”

The new album marks HAIM’s first since 2020’s Women in Music Pt. III, which earned a GRAMMY nomination for Album of the Year and a BRIT Award for International Group, making HAIM the first all-female rock band to score such honors.

HAIM are set to kick off a run of festival dates with a performance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 27, followed by Primavera Sound stops in Barcelona and Portugal in June.
