Good Neighbours open their doors to upcoming debut album with latest single “found u/me”

Date:

London-based duo Good Neighbours have released their feel-good track “found u/me,” the fourth single on their upcoming debut album Blue Sky Mentality

Following tracks “Suburbs,” “Starry Eyed,” and “Ripple,” “found u/me” serves as a continuation of their viral hit “Home,” both sonically and in the romantic relationship the narrator explores.

Embracing their usual indie-rock sound, the upbeat single “found u/me” follows a narrator who is not only entranced by the potential love of his life, but he has found someone who completes him as an individual.

Composed of multi-instrumentalists Oli Fox and Scott Verrill, Good Neighbours share:

“found u/me is about the life-changing epiphany when you meet someone that you want to spend forever with. It captures the feeling that stops you in your tracks – an overwhelming clarity that you’re ready to give everything for that one person.”

Not only has he found love, but the narrator has found someone who allows him to be at his fullest potential, and he can die happy knowing he’s discovered this kind of love in his life. Quite simply put: “When I found you, I found me.”

The lighthearted, loose vocals of the outro complete the hopeful tone of this infatuating track, walking the listener along on the path of finding true love, and the journey of self-discovery as a hidden benefit: “Rolling river, take me all the way / Tell me I belong to you ’cause I’ve been scared to say / All that matters in this mess we made / Is, if we’re going down together, nothing really matters, babe / Oh, I’m ready to die / I saw it there in your eyes / When I found you, I found me.”

The band’s debut album, Blue Sky Mentality, will serve as a culmination of what the band has learned since the start, written between hotel rooms, in tour buses, and all over the world.

Blue Sky Mentality has been our motto since day one. Our band began as a kind of light relief – a creative outlet to break from jobs that we couldn’t stand and some tough personal times. Over the last year, we ran with that feeling, writing our debut album on the road […] That’s what Blue Sky Mentality means to us – finding light, friendship and a sense of escapism wherever you are.”

Blue Sky Mentality is set to release September 26, available to pre-order and pre-save here.

Good Neighbours’ standout track “Home” hit alternative charts worldwide in 2024 and landed the band their first national TV debut in North America on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Featuring on their self-titled 2024 EP, the single is also certified Platinum in the U.S. (RIAA) and Gold in the UK (BPI).

Good Neighbours will embark on their headlining North American tour this fall, starting in Dallas, Texas, on October 5 and ending in Los Angeles, California, on November 12. All dates with support from “Sunroof” singer Nicky Youre. Remaining tickets are available here.

The rock duo will also perform at the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, Texas, in October, alongside Hozier, Cage the Elephant, and Empire of the Sun. Remaining tickets are available here.
