Australian indie pop/rock artist G Flip released a new single titled “Disco Cowgirl” on May 16th via AWAL Recordings. The single follows G’s 2023 album DRUMMER, which featured hit singles “The Worst Person Alive” and “Be Your Man.” DRUMMER also earned the multi-instrumentalist six ARIA nominations and was named Album of the Year by Australian radio station Triple J.

G Flip has embraced a new sound, leaning into an 80s pop sound with reverberating synthwave snare drums and an explosive vocal performance that brings to mind voices like Bonnie Tyler and Heart’s Ann Wilson.

G is embarking on an interesting and exciting stylistic journey. “Disco Cowgirl” is a bit of a departure from their heavier, more rock-centric music from previous albums, but they are excited to try something new, sharing:

“It’s the first step on a larger journey that I can’t wait to share with the world.”

G Flip is heading out on a short run of European shows next week, and is slated for few festival appearances in the USA this summer. Tickets are available for purchase here.

“Disco Cowgirl” is available to stream wherever you listen to music, and a 7″ vinyl of the single is available for purchase in Australia.
