Foxing releases blistering new single “If I Believed in Love”

Date:

On August 6, the ambitious St. Louis trio Foxing will release Draw Down the Moon, their follow-up to 2018’s beloved Nearer My God. Foxing has made their name on their sonic variance and fearlessness, with each song and album representing a serious step up from the last. So far, they’ve released the seven-minute opus “Speak With the Dead”, the electro-poppy “Go Down Together”, and the classic-rock pastiche of “Where the Lightning Strikes Twice”. Today, they’ve unveiled their newest single “If I Believed In Love”, and it’s a similar change in pace that we can expect them to reach for.

“If I Believed In Love” started with a sparse electronic beat and melody akin to their material from The Albatross, but after a minute turns into a frenetic, high-energy anthem that recalls both the emo revival of the early 2010s and Funeral-era Arcade Fire or the more restless moments of Bartees Strange. It’s a thrilling listen, and it bodes well for Draw Down the Moon that all four singles have been spectacular. Listen to the track below, and preorder the album via Grand Paradise / Hopeless Records here.
