“Give Me Some Space” is yet another enthralling, optimistic catharsis from the multi-talented Fox Stevenson. The single — which is set to be on his second album, releasing at the end of this month — is written, performed, produced, and mastered by Stevenson himself. The high-energy, intricate production matches Stevenson’s witty lyrics and playful voice.

The lyrics dart between playful absurdity and sincerity, telling the story of a chronically overstimulated individual searching for solitude in an ever-changing world. Stevenson’s production perfectly encapsulates what the song is about, with elements shooting in and out of the arrangement at lightning speed and leaving the listener ever so slightly disoriented.

“Give Me Some Space” is a powerful development in Stevenson’s musical career, as he continues to evolve and bend genres while still keeping to his typical infectious, adventurous sound. His live band consisting of Pat Lundy, Bruce Charles and himself continues to wow live audiences across the US and Europe on tours and festival circuits. Stevenson’s charismatic approach to writing and performing is prevalent throughout all his music, and I’m sure we’re yet to hear more of that on his upcoming album out on June 27th.
