Flycatcher has released another anthemic and emotional effort with “Flood,” the latest single from their upcoming debut record Wrench due on October 24th via Memory Music.
The New Jersey rockers blend a big, impactful chorus with soaring guitars, gritty vocals and a unique Americana-inspired twang. The track’s bold production makes it another sharp, compelling glimpse into their full-length debut after previous singles “Truth,” “Dissolve” and “Brother.” The cathartic song is laced with undeniable indie rock and emo influences and displays a reflection of their lifestyle choices as a band in an emotionally revealing way.
“We’re all avoiding disastеr and hoping it lasts / Nobody knows whatever’s coming to pass” and “We oughta live like we’re gonna die / You know that all of this is borrowed, right?” highlight an attitude that prioritizes living your life to the fullest on your own terms and conditions. “Flood” was almost cut from Wrench, but the band quickly realized that its powerful chorus couldn’t be tossed away and ignored that easily.
Consisting of vocalist/guitarist Greg Pease, guitarist Justin VanNiekerk, bassist Jack Delle Cava, and new drummer Matteo DeBenedetti, the band collaborated with Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip in Pennsylvania to bring Wrench to life. Flycatcher aimed to deliver a more self-assured, honest version of their artistic direction and identity as musicians with this new era.
Flycatcher will be hitting the road for their first ever headline tour this November in celebration of their album release. The tour begins in Brooklyn, NY on November 8th and wraps up in Philadelphia on November 23rd, with the band set to hit cities like Baltimore, Nashville, Chicago and more in between.
