Estella Dawn releases haunting new single “You Didn’t Text Me”

Date:

Estella Dawn has released a new single titled “You Didn’t Text Me,” a dark pop track with deeply personal lyrics about a chaotic night that led to the end of a relationship.

From beginning to end, “You Didn’t Text Me” details the haunting events that unfolded in real life, involving emotional manipulation, infidelity, and drug addiction. In the pre-chorus, Dawn reveals how her partner refused to take accountability for cheating, blaming it on his mental health struggles: “You know that I don’t make light of other people’s demons / But you’re making it kinda hard to believe them / You’re telling me you lost your mind / But you picked her that night.”

About the inspiration behind the song, Dawn says:

“It’s based on an actual night – every lyric really happened. I didn’t want to fictionalize it. He told me he’d lost his mind and that he was going to kill himself, so cheating ‘didn’t matter.’ And yet, he’s still breathing, so…”

Backed by her distinctive, soulful vocals, “You Didn’t Text Me” further proves Dawn’s strength as an artist who is unafraid to be her most vulnerable and honest self in her music. This year, the singer-songwriter and producer has released a string of singles, including “Conversations,” “Drunk & Messy,” and “Reckless.”
