Eric Kane gets vulnerable about love and solitude in “right by my side”

Date:

Canadian singer-songwriter Eric Kane has released “right by my side,” an acoustic-driven folk song about finding everlasting love.

In the new track, Kane opens up about feeling ready for a more grounded kind of love, after working on self-love and personal growth. Accompanied by acoustic guitars, the chorus soars with his emotional vocal delivery, as he declares, “Right by my side / Where you’ll be always / Your hand in mine / Through the fires and the floods / Gaze into your eyes / Hearts are longing / For the rest of our lives / Right by my side.”

About the meaning behind the song, Kane says:

After ten years of solitude and self-reflection, ‘right by my side’ came from a place of finally being ready to invite love in. It’s about finding someone who meets me at the same level I’ve learned to love myself.”

Since debuting in 2022 with the single “Memories Crawl,” Kane has consistently put out new music, including the 2023 EP, Unforgettable Moments. In 2025, he released his breakout single “water my soul,” which has amassed over 1.6 million streams on Spotify.
