Australian singer-songwriter Elaskia has released a new single titled “Either Way I Lose,” a cinematic pop ballad reminiscent of Lizzy McAlpine and Olivia Rodrigo.
With beautiful atmospheric instrumentation driven by acoustic guitars, Elaskia perfectly encapsulates the heartbreaking feeling of meeting the right person at the wrong time. In the dreamy, harmony-stacked chorus, she sings, “Something in the way that I’m falling / Faster than I usually do / Wish I wasn’t already all in / Now I’ve lost myself in you / Trying to find a reason we’re not right / So I don’t have to choose myself over you ’cause / Either way I lose.”
Elaskia’s 2018 debut single, “Calling Out My Name,” was featured on Netflix’s Dynasty and Hulu’s Runaways, while her follow-up, “I Will Do Anything,” was featured on Australia’s iconic soap opera Home and Away. She has also supported major Australian artists, such as Vera Blue and Montaigne, as their opening act.
