Burn The Jukebox Loses Control of the Chaos in “Not Me Being Crazy”

Date:

Drive that hook, baybee. Burn The Jukebox comes out swinging with their catchy and emotive single “Not Me Being Crazy“.

This is a no-nonsense, alt-rock bop that explores heavy emotional themes. This group of younglings (13-14 years old!) brings the heat and cooks up a song that is easily connected with from people of all ages.

A blazing 16th note hi-hat pattern is deftly employed to create a ton of kinetic energy for the verses. Syncopated guitars paint the canvas with consistency while the bass plays around with the progression. The vocalist shares vulnerable lyrics about their mental health journey and then…

In comes the hook! This hook is the heart and soul of the song and features jamming drums, memorable lyrics, and nice high harmonies from the band. If you scrub through this track, it’s likely that wherever you go, you’ll land in the chorus, and you’re better off for that. It’s a great hook.

In line with the song’s theme of mental health, Burn The Jukebox is working with the Lamplighter Project in the UK, which uses music, art,
and storytelling to address contemporary mental well-being challenges. Burn The Jukebox‘s music will be featured prominently in this initiative and I think that’s rad.

This song is as catchy as it is compelling, give it a listen or 3!
