Boy Throb, the internet’s favorite boy band, has had one consistent goal since they first hit social media in 2025: securing a U.S. visa for their friend and fourth member, Darshan Magdum.
After a year and a half of determination and hard work, Boy Throb will finally be whole. In videos posted to the band’s accounts across social media, the group announced that Magdum’s visa was finally approved and that he will be able to perform alongside his friends later this year.
Since the band’s inception, they have been fighting online and onstage to prove to the government that they are, in fact, a real band. 2026 saw the group’s first venue performance, during which they brought “Throbchella” to New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. Magdum tuned in from a video call.
The unprecedented level of support that the group received at the event allowed them to embark on what they dubbed The Rehearsal Tour in order to prepare themselves for the day Magdum’s visa would be approved. Just before the final night of the tour when the band returned to New York City, Magdum called his bandmates to share the good news with them.
Though Boy Throb has faced scrutiny and been dismissed as a parody act (with some even holding the belief that the group is part of an elaborate stunt put together by comedian Nathan Fielder), they have proven time and time again that they are in fact a real band that is here to stay. The date of Magdum’s arrival is still unknown, but what is for sure is that Boy Throb’s story is only getting started.
