bodie releases uplifting anthem “GOOD OLD DAYS”

Date:

For alt-pop singer-songwriter bodie, there is much to be grateful for these days. In September of last year, he released the HAPPY TO BE HERE EP, which contained the highly-acclaimed single “whisper and the wind.” After bodie was nominated for “Breakout Single of the Year” for the song at the K-LOVE awards, he then went on the ‘Murder My Ego Tour’ around the U.S. The tour was a major success and served as a great way for bodie to celebrate his recent grand prize win at the International Songwriting Competition. The ISC is recognized as the most prestigious songwriting competition in the world, with thousands upon thousands of entries from hundreds of countries each year. In the end, “whisper and the wind” ended up thoroughly impressing highly-esteemed judges like KISS’ Paul Stanley and Heart’s Nancy Wilson, who were moved by its lyricism and ability to generate such an emotional response. All in all, I guess you could say that bodie is in the “GOOD OLD DAYS” right now…

On his new single, “GOOD OLD DAYS,” bodie describes what it is like to unconditionally follow his dreams. He starts with, “All my friends think I should get a different job / When I add it up, they’re not completely wrong / Following your heart comes with a heavy cost / But I can’t stop,” speaking to those out there who know what it’s like to passionately pursue something that nobody else understands. Meanwhile, bodie is accompanied by feel-good elements like rhythmic beats and acoustic guitar strums that lead into anthemic, rock-driven choruses. As the song goes on, bodie touches on the struggle of getting where he needs to go, but he remembers, “These are those good old days / This is my hall of fame.” Basically, these are the days that he will fondly look back on when he makes it big.

“GOOD OLD DAYS” is the second single from bodie’s upcoming album, which is due for release later this year. In April, he released the album’s first single, “SAY SO,” a compelling track about finding the right support in times of need. The lyrics can be quite moving, which might be why the music video is so silly. Basically, bodie and his crew get up to some Jackass-like antics, engaging in cringey stunts that are so reckless that you can’t look away.
