Liverpool indie-pop artist BANNERS — also known as Michael Joseph Nelson — continues to captivate audiences with his distinct style with his latest single titled “Perfectly Broken (Duet Version).” The track will be featured on his upcoming album, All Back to Mine, which is set to be released on April 19, 2024.
Nelson has become known for his reliability and soaring melodies since his 2015 debut. With “Perfectly Broken (Duet Version),” Nelson collaborated with “America’s Got Talent 2022” star and rising songwriter Lily Meola. Meola gained notoriety for her breakout single “Daydream,” which was released in 2021.
“Perfectly Broken (Duet Version)” is a bedroom pop ballad that still provides some hope amidst the melancholy. The song offers a new perspective on how self-perception and societal standards in the media impact us. BANNERS and Meola wish that people could learn to accept their flaws and appreciate the qualities that make them so unique.
Nelson wrote and recorded his album over five months in Liverpool after returning to his hometown after spending seven years in Canada starting his music career.
Upon the release of All Back to Mine, BANNERS is set to tour Europe and the UK from May 7 to May 27.
