“Back to the Keys” by Dylan Dunlap is a comfort for the younger version of us

Date:

Everyone, at one point or another, has had moments of loss of heart and discomfort; everyone has something they go back to for comfort and warmth. Dylan Dunlap’s new single “Back to the Keys” can be just that.

Dunlap’s new song is an homage to his time of struggle and loss within bustling cities and harsh environments. Being able to return to his instruments and his love of music kept him going during these times. “Back to the Keys” is a dedicated letter to his younger self, allowing him to embrace the version of himself who sang on the streets of the world’s biggest cities and to know that his growth is unmatched, that the future has more in store for him than he would ever know at the time.

As such, Dunlap’s song also allows listeners to reconnect with themselves and truly sit with who they were during vulnerable times in their lives. Dunlap shares more about what “Back to the Keys” means to him:

“’Back to the Keys’ is a snapshot of the moment I struggled most with my self-worth out there. When words felt impossible, it was always safer to return to my instruments and play music. This song is the warmest hug I can give to the younger Dylan who felt lost and broken.”

Dunlap’s new album TROUBADOUR will be released June 25.
