BABYMETAL release “from me to u” featuring Poppy, the second single off their upcoming album

Date:

Japanese trio BABYMETAL are the pioneers of their own genre in the metal world. Their tracks are as brutal and crushing as they are catchy and cute. Blurring the lines between idol, metal, and pop, new single “from me to u” continues on the building of BABYMETAL lore, this time with a fitting feature from Poppy.

Having celebrated their 15th anniversary on April 1st with their annual ‘FOX DAY,’ BABYMETAL have announced their biggest tour yet in support of their upcoming album METAL FORTHincluding dates in Europe, America, Asia, and the UK. The new album is set with a stacked lineup of features including Spiritbox, Polyphia, and Poppy amongst other big names.

The new single “from me to u” is right at home in the BABYMETAL catalogue, but certainly brings some new rage-filled energy with the screeching vocals that Poppy has come to own. The track bounces from English to Japanese in the same way it goes from heavy breakdowns to a sound that I wouldn’t be surprised to hear in an anime theme song. Essentially a light, wholesome beatdown track, “from me to u” is all about empowerment and working together to fight a common evil. In the chorus sung in tandem, Poppy and SU-METAL sing/scream, “Stand up and make your voice / Let the fire carry on / Let the power go from me to you.”

Stream “from me to u” below and check out BABYMETALS socials to keep up. BABYMETAL’s upcoming album METAL FORTH is out everywhere on June 13th via Capitol Records.
