Canadian-Armenian pop punk princess Arabella puts out her newest breakup anthem. “Dumb Lovesong” is a deconstruction of the average love song, with the same tone and attitude as Sara Bareilles’ “Love Song”. Arabella denounces the person that wronged her, saying that they “tell long stories just to call me boring” and “beg me for a dumb love song like you didn’t do me wrong”.
Heavy guitar backs up Arabella’s strong vocals, creating a tension that releases in an explosive chorus. The drums are infectious as they lead into the bridge, which uses percussion and a filter over Arabella’s voice to calm the song down before it builds back into the chorus once again. Filled with teenage rage and incredible vocals, the newest from Arabella is a pop punk hit.
