Annika Bennett announces debut album ‘Live From Mother Earth’ and shares new single “Strong Enough”

Date:

Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and producer Annika Bennett has announced her debut album, Live From Mother Earth, set for release on Oct. 18. Known for her hit “Boy Who Has Everything,” Bennett has already dropped three singles in anticipation of the upcoming album: “Strong Enough,” “Molly, I’m Coming Around” and “A Tree Falls.”

Bennett wrote “A Tree Falls Down” during a solo trip to the desert, where she reflected on the significance of her existence, music and emotions — believing they mattered regardless of who was there to witness them. After hearing the demo, singer-songwriter and producer John Mayer offered to help produce the track.

Bennett first appeared on the music scene in 2018 and released her debut EP Only Emotion in 2021. Having developed her sound in New York and Nashville, she has become known for her blend of pop, country and indie influences, with nods to classic rock à la Paul McCartney. After the success of her EP, Bennett joined Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness on a 10-week tour, released her 2022 single “Every Color of the Rainbow,” and performed at a sold-out LA show opening for Ashley Kutcher.

About the debut record, Bennett wrote:

“this album feels like such a long time coming. i wrote one of these songs when i was a teenager, and the rest in the last couple years between playing opening slots and writing songs for other artists. the album is about growing up and figuring out what matters and realizing i have to matter to myself. it took me a while to put aside enough time and space and energy to make this album but im so so so happy i did.”
