Alessia Cara announces upcoming album ‘Love & Hyperbole’ and shares new single

Date:

Singer-songwriter Alessia Cara is returning to the music scene with a new album set to be released on Feb. 14, 2025, Valentine’s Day. Titled Love & Hyperbole, the album marks Cara’s first in four years and will be released through Def Jam Recordings.

The 28-year-old Canadian alt-pop artist, known for her breakout single “Here,” which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014, is building anticipation for her upcoming project. Today (Oct. 21), she unveiled the second single from the album, “(Isn’t It) Obvious,” a collaboration with John Mayer. The track is accompanied by a music video and after it recently was featured on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Earlier this year, Cara released “Dead Man,” a song reflecting on emotional distance. About her latest single, she shared, “‘(Isn’t It) Obvious’ is about being physically apart from someone but still reminding them how much you love them.”

Love & Hyperbole is set to bring more of Cara’s introspective lyrics and soulful sound, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
