LIVE PHOTOS: Witt Lowry // Tampa, FL

Date:

Mark Richard Jr. aka Witt Lowry is not only a rapper, but he’s also an artist and creator. Despite graduating with a degree in graphic design Mark realized that music was his true passion and thus Witt Lowry was born in 2011 and since then he has released four albums, his newest album Never Roads came out on August 30. Witt is currently headlining the Never Roads tour, along for the ride is pop/hip-hop duo Xuitcasecity and new group Whatever We Are; on October 12 the tour stopped by the Crowbar in Tampa, Florida.

Whatever We Are were the first to take the stage, the four members took their stance decked out in white clothing, what they call a blank canvas to the creativity they hold. The group might be best known for their first single Limbo, a song about feeling lost but holding on to that glimpse of hope. Going into the show I didn’t know Whatever We Are musically yet they grabbed my attention. The group consists of Gabrielle Ross, Chris ‘Trippz’ Michaud, Joey Castellani, and Ian Biggs, friends who had their own solo artistic careers that came together and formed Whatever We Are.

Tampa is no stranger to singer Mike Gomes and rapper Cam Young in Xuitcascity, the duo coming from the city. The two brought on a lively performance, one you couldn’t help but move along to and the crowd seemed to agree. They slowed things down a bit with an acoustic song of Goodbye, “I ain’t nothin’ but the ashes on your cigarette” “Yeah, all the truths they unfold between you and I / So I’m saying goodbye.” When Xuitcasecity left the stage the crowd was more than ready for Witt Lowry, the cheers of “Witt, Witt, Witt,” began at the sound of the ukulele. Witt Lowry played numerous songs from his newest album, hyping up the crowd with his fast rapping and antidotes between songs.
