Real Friends bring heartfelt energy to Silverstein’s “25 Years of Noise” tour stop in Knoxville

Date:

The Mill & Mine in Knoxville was alive with energy on April 23 as Silverstein’s 25 Years of Noise tour made its long-awaited stop in East Tennessee. With an explosive lineup featuring Greyhaven, Broadside, and Real Friends as openers, the night was packed with crowd-surfing, singalongs, and unforgettable moments.

Louisville’s Greyhaven opened the evening, setting the pace with their intense, hard-hitting sound. Blending aggressive riffs and melodic breakdowns, they grabbed the early crowd’s attention and set a gritty tone for the night.

Broadside delivered an electric set filled with energy and heart. They played fan-favorite tracks like “Heavenly” and their latest single “I Think They Know,” with frontman Ollie Baxxter keeping the crowd moving from start to finish. Their set was a perfect balance of upbeat singalongs and emotional hooks, keeping the momentum high for what was to come.

Real Friends took the stage next and immediately connected with the crowd through their signature brand of emotionally charged pop punk. Vocalist Cody Muraro brought the house down early on by crowdsurfing during their second song, feeding off the room’s electric energy. A standout moment came midway through the set when Cody stepped off the stage and into the middle of the crowd to perform a stripped-down, emotional rendition of “Giving Up On You.” The venue fell into a hushed, intimate moment as fans surrounded him, singing along to every word. After he rejoined the band on stage, Real Friends powered through a few more heartfelt tracks before closing their set with the anthemic “Tell Me That You’re Sorry,” leaving the room buzzing and setting the perfect stage for the night’s headliners.

Silverstein delivered a set worthy of their 25-year legacy. They opened with “Skin & Bones” and “Confession” before diving into a well-curated selection of both classic hits and newer favorites. Standout performances included “Infinite,” “The Afterglow,” and a thunderous rendition of “A Midwestern State of Emergency.” The band closed the night with an epic encore featuring fan-beloved tracks “My Heroine” and “Smashed Into Pieces.”

Frontman Shane Told’s powerful vocals and relentless energy kept the crowd engaged from start to finish, with fans chanting every word back in a true celebration of the band’s impact on the genre.

The Knoxville stop of the 25 Years of Noise tour wasn’t just a concert — it was a celebration of community, nostalgia, and the enduring spirit of post-hardcore music. From Greyhaven’s fierce opener to Real Friends’ emotional crowd moments and Silverstein’s explosive finale, it was a night to remember for every fan in the room!
