On September 13, rising shoegaze heavyweights Glixen dropped their latest single “Sick Silent” via AWAL. A continuation of their signature balance of intensity and catharsis to be found within their work, “Sick Silent” serves as a thought-provoking and emotive new single from the Phoenix, Arizona, natives.

The new release comes ahead of the group’s upcoming EP produced by Sonny DePerri (Bullet For My Valentine, DIIV). Followed by two previous singles, “Lust” and “Foreversoon,” Glixen’s newest single is an enigmatic and sensual track that lulls listeners through feather-soft vocals and distorted electric guitars.

Composed of Aislinn Ritchie (lead vocals), Esteban Santana (guitars), Keire Johnson (drums) and Sonia Garcia (bass), Glixen is a prominent group that is spearheading the modern resurgence of shoegaze rock. While touring with the likes of Interpol, DIIV and Narrow Head, Glixen has released only one EP and a handful of singles.

This year, the alt rock outfit has had a heavy touring year. They played SXSW, Treefort Festival, supported acts such as Nothing., Glitterer, Softcult and Fish Narc and have played to packed crowds while doing so. Glixen will continue to play an extensive string of dates across the country for their U.S. fall tour with support from Turnover, Glare and Tanuchikan.

Through their magnetic artistry and intense musicality, Glixen is able to effortlessly crawl into the ears and hearts of listeners and stay a while. Their latest single, “Sick Silent,” is a perfect example of the hard-hitting healing power that can be found within the world of Glixen.
