Concert Review: X Ambassadors at Buckhead Theatre, Atlanta, GA

X Ambassadors returned to Atlanta with a powerful performance at the Buckhead Theatre that left fans both new and old craving for more. The evening began with a high-energy rendition of their hit song “Renegades” from their debut album VHS. The moment the first chords struck, the crowd erupted in cheers, and it wasn’t long before the entire theatre was singing along. The familiar shouts of “Hey Hey Hey!” reverberated through the venue, with lead singer Sam Harris encouraging and delighting in the audience’s participation.

Harris’s vocals were as impeccable as ever, effortlessly hitting every note and pouring his heart into the performance. The band’s tight musical arrangement set the tone for the night, establishing an electrifying atmosphere from the get-go.

Following the opener, the X Ambassadors showcased their evolving sound with new tracks from their latest album. “No Strings” and “Smoke on the Highway” were highlights, seamlessly blending the band’s signature style with fresh, innovative elements. These songs demonstrated the band’s growth and willingness to explore new musical landscapes, much to the audience’s delight.

After the second track, Harris took a moment to formally engage with the crowd, expressing their excitement to be back in Atlanta. He shared the band’s enthusiasm about their new record Townie, and that the setlist would be a perfect mixture of both old and new songs, which caused the crowd to instantly cheer as the band proceeded to perform “Smoke On The Highway.”

What followed was a non-stop musical journey through Townie. Each song seemed to build on the last, with the band delivering a string of tracks that kept the energy levels sky-high. The stage was a whirlwind of motion, with Harris and his bandmates fully immersed in their performance. The audience mirrored this energy, dancing and singing along with fervor.

Notable performances included the anthemic “Hey Child” and the soulful “Happy People”, both of which showcased the band’s dynamic range, and  showcasing Harris’s fantastic vocals. The band sounds incredible, capturing the essence of live music. It’s easy to see why their fans are so enamored with them.

As the night drew to a close, X Ambassadors left the stage with the crowd still buzzing from the unforgettable experience. Their performance at the Buckhead Theatre was a night of shared joy, powerful music, and a celebration of the band’s journey and future.
