Marije’s “Miss Perfect” Revives Classic 2000s-Era Punk Rock

Date:

Singer-songwriter Marije explores themes of insecurity and self-doubt in her latest single, “Miss Perfect”. Originally being a pop artist, Marije is now focusing on hard rock and alternative rock, putting out tunes that are similar to Avril Lavinge, PVRIS, and Tonight Alive. Her previous hit, titled “Phantom”, was featured on New Music Friday Switzerland and is still being celebrated around the world.

About her switch to rock, Marije said:

“Well, let’s just say I’m cranking out some heavier tunes. Get ready for some serious headbanging ‘cause we’re taking things up a notch. So, buckle up and join me on this wild ride. I’m ready to rock your world.”

“Miss Perfect” features the best of rock and roll, using wailing guitar chords and sharp cymbals to tell the story of a seemingly perfect woman who is falling apart. Marije sings, “She’s trapped in a circle of self-hate / How can it be? / Miss Perfect lost at sea” to emphasize the downfall overcoming the track’s title character.

Overall, this track is a wonderfully created piece, as Marije expertly brings back punk-influenced 2000s-era sounds. “Miss Perfect” is a hit you will not want to miss out on.
