Viruette Takes You For a Ride in New Single, “Sick Hominid”

Date:

In “Sick Hominid“, Viruette utilizes epic atmospherics and uniquely familiar vocals to detail the inability to escape the throes of a relationship.

This song is not your run of the mill, heartbreak bop. No dear reader, this is a ride. Buckle up for vibe switches, time switches, dynamic swells, and instrumentation augmentations. This sort of winding road of a song is representative of the story it’s telling.

Both lyrically and musically, the concept of trying to end a relationship but succumbing to temptation in the process is explored. “Break a lock and lift up the ledge, you’ll find a sweet thing and a sick hominid”, is a lyric illustrative of the mental place the writer is in and how they feel about themselves after being unable to end the relationship.

Truly a romp through rock, “Sick Hominid” provides the listener with a buffet of moments to sink their teeth into. Take a bite.
