We have had a great year so far with Thomas Day, the Nashville-based singer-songwriter who has delivered tracks like “VICIOUS,” “MASOCHIST,” and “Come Home” to get us through the spring and summer. In turn, Thomas has had his own great year, as he expanded his social media audience to over 7 million, completed a short run with David Kushner, and recently reached over 100 million cumulative streams on his music. Thomas is known for his expressive and enthralling style, able to transform heavy thoughts or personal experiences into exciting pop tracks that can live on forever. With his latest release, “Gravity,” Thomas maintains his enthralling style, but slightly switches it up.
On “Gravity,” Thomas creates a raw, piano-driven ballad that focuses on the feeling of being in love. Over the haunting chords, he sings, “I’m on fire / But I’ll be fine / If you stay” and “Loving you is like gravity / You’re the reason for it all,” embracing the connection he has with this person. Along with these open lyrics, Thomas sings out and gives us exposed vocals that truly convey his passion. If those elements are not enough to hit you, the choir of voices in the bridge will surely sweep you off your feet and into a place where gravity can’t hold you down. You can check it out below.
About “Gravity,” Thomas explains,
“This is the first proper love song I ever wrote. All of my songs are about love and heartbreak, but ‘Gravity’ is about capturing that feeling you get when you’re in love – the butterflies in your stomach, yell it from the rooftop kind of love.”
You can listen to “Gravity” on platforms like SoundCloud, Spotify, and Apple Music.
