Avril Lavigne brings the Love Sux Tour to London

Pop-punk legend Avril Lavigne finally brought her Love Sux Tour to London for the first of two huge sold-out shows at Alexandra Palace. After numerous postponements and a venue change, Avril’s fans were eager to see her take to the stage. The fans screamed with anticipation as the lights dimmed and the screen began displaying an intro video reflecting on the singers career. As the video come to an end Avril took to the stage on a platform above the drummer and kicks off the show with “Bite Me” from her 2022 album Love Sux. The setlist included many fan favourites from the early years of Avril’s career, including “Complicated”, “Girlfriend” and of course “Sk8er Boi” which ended with a blast of confetti. She also played some new song as well as playing classics including Yungblud collab “I’m a Mess”, Blackbear collab “Love It When You Hate Me” and of course the song that named the tour “Love Sux”. To conclude such a huge night Lavigne performed “Here’s To Never Growing Up”, which had the audience singing the lyrics back to the singer loudly. Phem opened up the and certainly warmed up the crowd ahead of the headliner, and even joined Avril on stage for a cover of the Spice Girls “Wannabe”.
