HamsandwhicH shares thrilling new single, “Julian”

Date:

HamsandwhicH is one of Ireland’s most enthralling live acts. The band has opened for multiple heavy-weight international artists including Arcade Fire and Pixies, sold out Dublin’s prestigious Olympia Theatre 3 times, and has played on main stages at festivals like Electric Picnic and Longitude Festival. They’ve also performed with Bon Jovi at the renowned Slane Castle and were personally asked by Mumford & Sons to support them in Phoenix Park.

The group is made up of Niamh Farrells, a sweet yet powerful vocalist, Podge McNamee’s juxtaposing baritone, and Brian Darcy’s astonishing guitar riffs. Well known for their breathtaking live performances, the Irish band released a new album, Magnify, On September 30th.  HamsandwhicH claims “ ‘Magnify’ is a new type of record for us: there’s a bit of indie electro dance on it but it also has lots of nods to the older sounds people will recognize, which we felt was important.

HamsandwhicH released a new single, “Julian,” on September 23rd. The track has an 80’s vibe and holds comparisons to Kate Bush and Björk. The song has choppy guitars and nifty synths that’s fun from beginning to end and a groovy, electronic sound that goes perfectly with Niamh’s vocals. There’s also a striking contrast in the lyrics that speak of uncertainty in a relationship that works perfectly well.

Listen to Julian below.

‘Magnify’ is out on all streaming platforms now!
