GWAR slays Nashville during Black Death Rager World Tour

Heavy Metal band GWAR brutally slayed Nashville, Tennessee on September 11th, 2022. On this leg of the Black Death Rager World Tour supporting acts included Crobot and Nekrogoblikon. These three bands melted the walls off the Brooklyn Bowl music venue, and gave fans the show of a lifetime.

Opening act, Crobot began the show with immediate high energy. Formed in 2011 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania Crobot is known for their metal meets funk mix, along with vocalist Brandon Yeager’s electrifying voice, and amazing stage presence. Known for their songs “ Low Life,” “Gasoline,” and “Keep Me Down”, Crobot also released a new album on June 3rd, 2022 titled “Feel This”.  Other band members include Chris Bishop, Dan Ryan, and Tim Peugh all of which hyped up the crowd and prepared the fans for the big night ahead.

Second band of the night was Nekrogoblikon, and they absolutely showed up and showed out for Nashville. Nekrogoblikon was formed in Los Angeles, California in 2006 they are most known for their  hype-goblin, John Goblikon. This melodic death metal band has released 5 albums some songs include  “Golden Future,” “This Is It,” and “Dressed as Goblins.” Nekrogoblikon’s , John Goblikon, is known to hype up the crowd, interact with the band, and cause chaos while on stage. John, always keeps the fans entertained , which adds to the overall amazing performance the band provides.  The anticipation began to rise once this band announced that GWAR was next. They were so interactive with the crowd, and the overall energy was wild. Not to mention John made sure to give a little sass before he left stage with a quick hand on the hip and kicking his goblin foot back.

After much anticipation it was time for GWAR to perform, before the band came out GWAR staff was testing their props and spraying the crowd, which sent the crowd into total chaos. This was the moment we all had been waiting for. Formed in 1984 in Richmond, Virginia GWAR is a legendary band known by many, some for their heavy metal tunes, some for their blood splattered shows, but one thing we cannot deny is their amazing attire.  Once the show began the crowd went wild, as soon as the band came out, it was instant blood, blood, and more blood, no one was safe from GWARS wrath.  GWAR performed 17 songs in total, which included “The Cutter,” “Rise Again,” “Bored to Death,” “Sick of You,” and “Venom of the Platypus.” GWARS set included all the gore and amazing theatrics as usual, and then some. Everyone from the rail, to the back row was covered in blood and slime, some of which even reached to the balcony. The faces in the crowd, some young, some old, were all satisfied to see this memorable band that is quickly approaching 40 years together. With over 225,000 monthly listeners on Spotify GWAR has kept a loyal fan base, and the energy in Brooklyn Bowl shows that’s not going anywhere anytime soon!
