Caroline Romano releases cathartic “Panic Attack” from upcoming debut album

Date:

We received a slew of singles from alt-pop artist Caroline Romano last year, each one giving us new insight into who she is as a singer and songwriter.  From the witty “PDA of the Mainstream” to the aching “Lonely Interlude,” Caroline’s music captures what it is like to be living in such modern times, which is why it resonates with loads of other young adults out there.  Fearlessly capturing what she is going through in her lyrics, Caroline is there for her millions of fans and listeners at times when they may need her most.  Caroline’s latest single is no exception.

On “Panic Attack,” Caroline opens up about the crippling sensation of going through such a frightening ordeal.  The collection of stringed instruments we hear throughout the track give it a somber vibe, as their downhearted chords and melodies intertwine.  Caroline’s raw vocals add to these sounds, as she recounts the events that led up to the panic attack.  We hear about her driving alone in her car and being locked away in her room, attempting to fight off overwhelming thoughts.  As she finds herself standing on stage at the end of the track, she imparts that she is going to be okay.  You can check it out below.

About the track, Caroline explained,

“I wrote “Panic Attack’ in a parked car after one of the worst panic attacks I’ve ever experienced.  I had just gotten off the phone with my mom, frantic because I didn’t know what to do or how to help myself. The only thing I knew to do was to write it all down.  It’s still not something I can fully put into words, but writing this song helped pull me out of my own head.  I’m an incredibly anxious person and I’ve struggled with my mental health for as long as I can remember, which is why it felt so important to spotlight ‘Panic Attack’ as a single.  The last line of the song is, ‘I think I’m gonna be okay,’ because I truly believe that— I believe it for myself and for anyone listening.  We’re going to be more than okay.”

“Panic Attack” will be on Caroline’s upcoming debut album, Oddities and Prodigies, which will be released February 25.  The album is set to contain more of the intimate songwriting and creative instrumentals we have heard on Caroline’s previous singles, which are sure to establish her as “one of the next great pop acts.”

You can listen to “Panic Attack” on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
