JORDY seeks the solitude of wide, open spaces on “South Dakota”

Date:

With a little over two months until the end of the year, all of the things we have been putting off are starting to catch up to us.  And with the added stress of the holidays, it just seems like there is hardly enough time to act.  The madness of it all makes you want to slip away and go somewhere secluded and peaceful, where you can take a moment to breathe.  If you need some inspiration as to where to go, you can turn to JORDY and his new single “South Dakota,” which focuses on nature, the outdoors, and the beauty of getting away from it all.

On “South Dakota,” JORDY daydreams about how nice it would be to get out of southern California for a while, trading in the “sea of people always checking their phones” for a place “out in the middle of Minnesota” or “somewhere far away like Indiana.”  He mentions how nice it would be to “watch the leaves fall down in late October” and be in an environment that is a little less fast-paced.  The simple sounds of the acoustic guitar and the upbeat melodies evoke the spirit of the fall season, adding to JORDY’s rustic desires.

The accompanying music video features the pop artist out in the woods, breathing in the fresh air and clearing his mind among the trees.  As we see the open sky and the verdant leaves, we better understand the appeal of being in these calm places that JORDY describes.  You can check it out below.

“South Dakota” is JORDY’s last single to be released before his upcoming album Mind Games drops on November 5.  You can pre-save the album here.

You can listen to “South Dakota” on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
