Wonderfront Festival // Day 2 Recap

Date:

The lineup for day 2 of Wonderfront Festival was stacked, from hip-hop artist Jordan Hollywood in the early afternoon to rock band MGMT closing out one of the main stages. Saturday saw the most attendees of the 3-day festival, and the increase in crowd size was evident as fans overtook the footbridge connecting the four main stages. The atmosphere of the festival took on a new life on the second day as music lovers could embrace the weekend and enjoy the fun activations and performances available for them.

Fans who ventured over to the SDG&E “It’s On” San Diego 250 stage could catch the start of the weekend’s Tony Hawk Huckjam, where skateboard legend Tony Hawk showed off his skills on the half-pipe assembled in Ruocco Park. The festival grounds were set up all throughout the San Diego waterfront, and both the SDG&E and Headquarters stages were open to the public. With so much to see on Saturday, festivalgoers could utilize any of the numerous transportation systems in place to maneuver around the different areas of the festivals. The water taxis, harbor cruise shuttles, or trolley were ready to take fans where they needed to go.

The artists of day 2 got to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather and the beautiful crowds of festivalgoers. grandson brought his message-filled music to an eager crowd, and encouraged anyone listening to take control of their life and embody the self-determination mindset.  Just down the road from “La La Land,” there were plenty of smiling people happy to waste their time with Bryce Vine in California. Electronic rock duo Phantogram delivered an invigorating set that also included songs they released earlier this year. Fans could choose between headliners MGMT and Migos to close out their main stage experience. The second day of Wonderfront had it all.
