Will Linley Makes Glowing Debut with “miss me (when you’re gone)”

Date:

In today’s climate, aspiring musicians can post original demos online and get signed overnight.  Others might make covers for years and years before resonating with an audience.  And then there are artists such as Will Linley who are on a steady climb to the top, accumulating loads of followers upon each social media post.  The 20-year-old singer-songwriter from South Africa made waves last year after posting this promo video on TikTok, using the platform to amplify his objective in the music industry.  Fast-forward to today, and Will is gearing up to release his very first single, “miss me (when you’re gone),” which has already accumulated 1 million views through teasers alone.

On “miss me (when you’re gone),” Will touches on the ways that a relationship has changed him for the better.  Over building acoustic guitar and piano, Will sings about meeting someone special and falling in love, but then gives us a twist – not only does Will love this other person he is with, but he also loves who he is when he is with that person.  He sings, “When I found you, I found me” and “I’ll miss me when you’re gone,” showing just how whole this relationship makes him feel.

About the track, Will shared,

“My first song ‘miss me (when you’re gone)’ is a very personal song for me.  I had met someone who I felt brought out the best part of me.  The song is about me realizing that I’m going to miss the person that I am when I am around her, when we can no longer be together.”

You can listen to “miss me (when you’re gone)” on platforms like Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
