Watch Poppy “Unravel” on hauntingly vulnerable new single

Date:

Poppy finds herself tangled in the thoughts of her own doubt on “Unravel.” The haunting new single is her first solo release since the arrival of 2024’s Negative Spaces and follows the monumental collaboration track “End Of You” with Courtney LaPlante and Amy Lee from last month.

“Unravel” is a heavily vulnerable pop-metal effort that sees the genre-defying singer at a more passionate, intimate level. Produced and co-written alongside Jordan Fish, the track details feelings of isolation and insecurity while healing. Poppy rips into every imperfect thought through “Unravel,” spiraling through this emotional turmoil with an urgent, venomous poise.

The song’s production even mirrors this sensation as it switches between softer, more dramatic tones underneath the verses and intense, pain-filled breakdowns for the chorus and bridge. It’s a stunning track that further cements Poppy as one of metalcore’s leading boundary-pushing artists and excites the listener for what’s to come. The release of “Unravel” is accompanied by a mesmerizing and gloomy visualizer directed by Sam Cannon.

Poppy recently wrapped up the second leg of her massive They’re All Around Us Tour in North America earlier this month. The singer will now be hitting the road once again as support for Linkin Park in South America beginning on October 25th in Colombia.
