Vilhelm Buchaus’ new single,“My Mistake” explores the highs and lows of complicated relationships

Date:

The Stockholm-based singer Vilhelm Buchaus new single, “My Mistake,” explores the journey of being in a relationship that you know will only end in heartbreak. The track is written and produced by Vilhelm Buchaus, Amanda Kongshaug and Jacob Werner. Standout lyrics include: “I don’t want to miss you like I’m used to / Won’t you come back and make another mistake / Fall right back in / We can never quit / Fall right back in / I don’t want to miss you like I’m used to / Won’t you come back you’ll be my mistake.”

The pop-rock song channels high school love and youthful visions of throwing caution into the wind. The single is part of Vilhelm’s upcoming EP, Quiet Rooms. With a tone of a 2010s indie film about a devastating yet overly dramatic loss of love, the song feels like something you’d hear at the end of a movie where the long-distance lovers meet again. The track is perfect for that “you only live once” moment: “There’s a place where I go to see your face / Touch of hands / Slips away / Before we fall and break again / Into my falls in over my head.”
