Date:

At only 13 years old, Veda is making herself known in the music industry. After posting duets with her father, Bobby Amaru (singer of the band Saliva) on TikTok, she has garnered the attention of rock legends such as John Cooper, Mike Shinoda, and Lacey Sturm and amassed over 1.5 million followers. In her latest song “Wannabe Me”, Veda challenges stereotypes and assumptions about herself.

“Wannabe Me” is about fighting to express yourself. Through strong guitar and powerful vocals, Veda expresses her dislike of the labels attached to her and wants to show her authentic self without judgment. Lyrics such as What if I don’t wanna be the cool kid / The one you wanted me to be / What if I what if I what if I wanna be wanna be me” show her desire to forge her own identity and leave behind others’ opinions of her.
