On a rainy May evening in Atlanta, the Buckhead Theatre became more than just a venue — it transformed into G’s Bar & Grill, a whimsical stage where Grentperez served up a feast of soulful music, heartfelt interactions, and playful theatrics. Despite the downpour outside, the energy inside was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for Grentperez’s Backflips In a Restaurant tour, promoting his debut album of the same name.

As the crowd filtered in, the stage design immediately caught the eye. A table sat at the center of the stage, surrounded by a beautiful window wall backdrop, evoking the cozy charm of a restaurant setting. Drummer Ichi was dressed as a server, and guitarist Timi embodied the role of the cook, further enhancing the immersive theme. It was clear from the start that this wouldn’t just be a concert — it would be an experience.

The show kicked off with “Nice To Meet You”, a smooth and sultry track from his debut album. Grentperez’s silhouette appeared behind the tinted window, and as his lush vocals filled the venue, the audience fell under his spell. The atmosphere was intimate, almost as if we were all guests at a private dinner party. Stepping forward from the backdrop, “Manager Grentperez” made his grand entrance, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. He wasted no time and jumped straight into “Why I Love You”, bouncing around the stage with infectious energy. His interaction with the band added a playful dynamic, and the crowd couldn’t help but get caught up in the fun.

Grentperez’s setlist was a delightful mix of songs from Backflips In a Restaurant and earlier hits like “Clementine” and “Cherry Wine”. A particularly memorable moment came when he performed a brand new, unreleased song titled “Peace of Mind”. Rather than a ballad, the track was a midtempo groove with a smooth rhythm that had the crowd nodding and swaying along. It was the kind of song that felt instantly familiar — effortless, soulful, and unmistakably Grentperez. The warm response from the audience proved it could easily become a fan favorite.

In a heartfelt moment, Grentperez paused to thank the fans for braving the rainy weather to come to his show. The crowd erupted in cheers, with fans shouting their love and appreciation in return. Then, in the spirit of the fun atmosphere, a fan shouted out that they had a “SMISKI” figurine for him. Excitedly, Grentperez accepted the gift and, to the delight of everyone, opened it live on stage. The little green figurine was revealed to loud cheers.

As the show progressed, one of the most heartwarming moments came when Grentperez invited a couple to dine at G’s Bar & Grill — the on-stage restaurant. He serenaded them with “Yours To Keep”, turning the performance into a tender and intimate experience. The crowd watched with adoration as the couple sat at the table, sharing a moment of connection with the artist.

The concert was a beautiful balance of high-energy moments and tender ballads. Grentperez’s upbeat songs had the audience dancing and singing along, while his softer, more introspective tracks left a hushed awe in the air. His rich, velvety vocals resonated throughout the venue, effortlessly drawing the crowd into his world.

By the end of the night, it was clear that Grentperez had created something truly special. Backflips In a Restaurant at the Buckhead Theatre was a night full of musical magic, heartwarming interactions, and a touch of theatrical flair. Despite the rain that fell outside, inside the venue, the warmth of the performance left everyone with full hearts and smiles.
