Emo punk outfit Too Close For Comfort has just released their latest single, the introspective “Rose Gold Lights”, as they prepare for their upcoming summer tour.

In a refreshing display of vulnerability, Too Close For Comfort elaborate on the overwhelming feelings of anxiety that take over before a major event. As the band mentions, “Rose Gold Lights” is about experiencing stage fright, but the lyrics can adapt themselves to any situation that feels too intense to handle. Honest and raw, the detailed physical and mental effects are described in such a way that the listener can almost feel the distress themselves. As the song progresses though, we are met with a comforting thought: we are not alone, which helps us not only relate and empathize, but also know there’s people out there to guide us through it.

Citing the likes of Neck Deep and State Champs as musical influences, the band brings a more mature vibe to the emo punk scene. The heavy rhythm sections in “Rose Gold Lights” go hand in hand with the grounding guitars and electronic elements that elevate the sound. Too Close For Comfort moves past the rebellion and angst, and delves into a deeper self reflection that is mirrored in the music. “Rose Gold Lights” is powerful and heavy, yet undeniably emotional.
