The Rasmus returns to the US with their Weirdo Tour ’25

Date:

Finnish alt-rock band The Rasmus has made their long awaited return after almost two decades, as they make their way through the US for their Weirdo Tour ’25. The Brighton Music Hall gathering marks the very first time The Rasmus visits the city of Boston, and fans were excited to finally see the band after so many years.

The show kicked off with fan favorite “First Day of my Life,” quickly picking up the pace with “No Fear” and “Rest in Pieces,” some of the new songs that were featured off their upcoming album WEIRDO, to be released in the fall. The sound is fresh, yet it blends seamlessly with the band’s earlier work, which the audience was visibly eager to hear.

Frontman Lauri Ylönen had many candid interactions with the audience, always expressing deep gratitude for the fans that waited for so long to see them live; as he introduced “Wonderman,” he directed his attention to a fan he had spoken to earlier, who had specifically requested to hear this song. These kinds of closer connections with fans was a constant throughout the show: he told the story of another fan who had mentioned their mother recently passing away, finding them in the crowd, and dedicating “Still Standing” to her memory.

The explosive setlist included many tracks off their 2003 hit album Dead Letters, and the audience erupted in screams with every single track, jumping and waving their hands in the air. There was a special energy throughout the night, as the band mentioned many times how happy and fortunate they felt to finally be playing in Boston. “We love playing these little clubs,” said Ylönen, as they gave their all throughout the night.

“In My Life” saw the band leave the stage for a quick pause, returning for the most awaited moment of the evening: the closing monster hit “In The Shadows” ignited the room, bringing an emotional and exciting show to a close. It is safe to say The Rasmus gifted their loyal fans with a jam packed show that is sure to be unforgettable.
